Aquatic Therapy

What is Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic therapy is treatment provided by specially trained therapists who use the water and therapy combined to achieve functional outcomes.

The properties of the water, includiing buoyancy and resistance of movement can be used to address strength, postural control, range of motion, motor planning and weight bearing. The water also reduces stress on the joints and helps children achieve greater strength and endurance.

The benefits of aquatic therapy are also extended to children with sensory and developmental issues.
“Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.”
