If you would like to visit with us about your child, please call us at 479-770-0788.
Typically, if a parent/caregiver has a concern about their child’s development, then the parent schedules an appointment with the child’s Primary Care Physician (PCP) and requests a referral for therapy testing. We can help you get this referral. After the referral is received, we can begin evaluating your child’s current skill level in the area(s) of concern and develop a strategy for improving your child’s capabilities.

THE FIRST VISIT:

What to expect:

1. Upon arrival, we will ask you to complete a medical history questionnaire for the child. Interpreters are available if you need assistance.

2. Next, one or more therapists will discuss your concerns and ask a few questions. Please refrain from making negative comments about your child’s struggles in front of your child. We believe that words are powerful and we want to use them carefully to encourage and inspire!

3. Testing begins! Our therapists use a variety of methods when we evaluate. The first thing we are interested in is connecting with your child. We will observe them and also evaluate them using standardized tests. This first appointment usually lasts 1 to 1.5 hours depending on how many tests are given.

4. Your therapist will call you within a week to go over your child’s test results and possibly schedule therapy sessions if therapy is recommended. Although varied, children typically receive therapy 2 times weekly for about an hour depending on age, tolerance and ability.

“Children are likely to live up to what you believe in them.”
